Within the framework of his official visit to Switzerland, in Friburg, President Viktor Yushchenko met with Speaker of the Council of States (upper chamber of Federal Assembly of Switzerland) Alain Berset.
  At the  meeting sides discussed aspects of Ukrainian-Swiss cooperation. 
  
  Sides stressed importance of broadening the dialogue between the parliaments of  Ukraine and Switzerland, which would help pushing forward further development  of cooperation in all spheres of international relations. 
  
  Also sides stressed that the important step in developing trade and economic  relations between the two countries would be signature of the free trade agreement  between Ukraine and European Free Trade Association. 
  
  Beside that Victor Yushchenko and Alain Berset discussed Ukraine's European  integration. 
  
  The President thanked the Swiss side for its support of the resolution honoring  the memory of victims of the Holodomor in Ukraine 1932-33 adopted at the 34  session of the General Conference of UNESCO. 
  
  After the meeting Viktor Yushchenko toured the exhibition of Fribourg Museum of  Arts and history.
