At his briefing President’s Representative on International Energy Security Bohdan Sokolovsky told reporters that on January 2 Ukrainian delegation is to go to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany in accordance with instruction of President Victor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to conduct talks with European partners on the situation with Russian gas transit.
The delegation includes Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan, Deputy Foreign Minister Kostyantyn Yeliseyev, ‘Naftogaz of Ukraine’ Deputy Chairman Vadym Chuprun.
According to Bohdan Sokolovsky main aim of the trip is to provide European partners with explanation of Ukraine’s position on the situation with gas trade with Russia and to consult with European specialists about Ukrainian-Russian talks.
