Sokolovsky: Czech side showed understanding to Ukraine's position in situation with gas transit

At his briefing President’s Representative on International Energy Security Bohdan Sokolovsky told reporters Ukrainian delegation had talks with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, members of Czech government.

The delegates went on January 2 to the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany in accordance with instruction of President Victor Yushchenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko to conduct talks with European partners on the situation with Russian gas transit.

During the talks Ukrainian side informed Czech side about the situation with gas transit through Ukrainian territory and about development of talks between Ukraine and Russia on gas transit. The sides also agreed to consider invitation of European specialists to the talks.
