President: Ukraine and Turkey interested in visa free travel, free trade zone

Speaking to media at his joint press conference with the President of Turkey Abdullah Gül, President Yushchenko informed that the two countries have plans of establishing a free trade zone and liberalizing visa regulations up to cancelation of visas.

He informed that currently the two sides are close to partial canceling of visas for such citizens’ categories as journalists, students, businessmen, etc. In result of today’s talks Foreign Ministries of the two countries were instructed to elaborate specific mechanisms that would allow making concrete steps in that direction soon.

Also the two leaders reached agreement on beginning talks on free trade zone. Here President Yushchenko stressed that both countries consider free trade zone reasonable and put it as common goal in development of bilateral economic ties.
