Sea Breeze 2008 exercises to start on July 14

A total of 2,500 servicemen from 15 countries will participate in the Sea Breeze 2008 naval exercises in the Black Sea northwestern region, the chief of the exercises and first deputy commander of the Ukrainian Navy, Viktor Maksymov, said.

He said that multinational maneuvers would last until July 26. Ukraine will be represented by the ships Olshansky, Lutsk, Ternopil, Sokal, as well as troops of all kinds of the Armed Forces.

The exercises foresee the holding of maritime, coastal, diving and aviation stages. All of the tactical operations will be peaceful and humanitarian.
