Representatives of Ukrainian Energoatom, Morgan Stanley investment bank (USA) discuss cooperation prospects in nuclear-industrial area

Representatives of NNEGC Energoatom and one of the largest investment banks Morgan Stanley (USA) discussed cooperation prospects in nuclear-industrial area, the press-service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Fuel and Energy told.

During the meeting, Energoatom President Yuriy Nedashkovskyi told the bankers about the implementation plans of long-term and current investment projects on construction of the 3rd and 4th power-generating units at the Khmelnitsky NPP by 2016 as well as measures on safety increase on the operating power-generating units, extension of NPP operation life and improvement of refrigerant characteristics of water reservoir at the South-Ukraine NPP.

The parties considered financing possibilities of these projects as well as current needs of Energoatom related to holding a summer repair campaign.

"The primary task for us is to develop business with Ukrainian state enterprises, such as NNEGC Energoatom, taking into account stability of company's activities, its role in the country's economics and foreign investors' attitude to the company," CEO of the bank Andrius Gerasimovas noted.
