Large-scale contract concluded on Ukrainian car market

The Scania Ukraine company concluded an agreement to supply 300 Scania trucks to the amount of EUR 23 million. This is the biggest one-time contract on the Ukrainian car market.

All Scania trucks, namely two-axle Scania G420 tractor units have engine power of 420 h.p. They will be supplied by the Europa-Trans company which is a member of the public organization All-Ukrainian Union of Meat Products Producers UkrMyasoProdukt.

Head of the strategic development department of the Europa-Trans company Ihor Horbatyh noted that company's vehicle fleet includes 189 trucks and is constantly growing. In three years, Europa-Trans plans to cover one fourth of the Ukrainian market of freight services.

According to Director General of Scania Ukraine Andreas Puekker, the agreement bears a great potential as the Scania company has a well developed service network all over Ukraine.

The Scania company started operating 15 years ago in Ukraine. The Scania Ukraine company was founded in 1998. Scania's service network includes seven service centers, however some more centers are supposed to be opened in the near future.

In 2007, 300 Scania new trucks were supplied to Ukraine which doubles 2006 rate. Scania's marker share among Ukrainian importers of heavy-duty trucks is 12%.
