First tranche received for reconstruction and construction of Donetsk Airport

Builders of the Donetsk Airport (city of Donetsk, East Ukraine) received the first tranche for its reconstruction and construction. It is planned that expenses for this purpose will total UAH 733 million (USD 1/UAH 4.85).

According to Director General of the Utility Enterprise International Airport Donetk Valentyn Palamarchuk, its new runway will receive planes of any types and in any weather. There will be two such runways in Ukraine. One has been functioning in Boryspil (Kyiv), the second will be constructed in Donetsk.

In the future, an old terminal will be reconstructed and an additional terminal will be built. The first will service up to 700 passengers an hour, the second - up to one thousand, therefore there will be no delays with receiving and conveying guests during the European Football Championship.

The runway will be tested next year. The new and the reconstructed terminals will be put into operation by the end of 2011.
