Ukraine's Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich has taken a knee surgery in Spain, said the press service of the Regions Party he chairs.
"In the course of surgery, his knee meniscus was corrected," the party's press officials indicated.
He was operated on in a leading clinic in Barcelona May 9 by Dr Ramon Cugat Bertomeu, a well-known Spanish surgeon who specializes in surgery for sports traumas.
"Mr. Yanukovich's condition is satisfactory," the press service said.
If he does not develop complications in the process of recuperation, he is due to return to Kiev in three or four days from now.
