Largest Russian retailer looses shops in Ukraine

A largest Russian retailer X5 Retail Group lost all Ukrainian shops of its commercial chain Pyatyorochka. The company cancelled an agreement with its franchisee – the Fifth Element sales network, which 23 shops worked under the Pyatyorochka brand name.

This decision is concerned with the X5 Ukrainian strategy change. The company intends to refuse of operating under franchise agreements and focus on the opening its own shops.

Experts assume that with this view the company should buy a Ukrainian operator. It’s not excluded that that can be the Fifth Element again, which they affiliate with Kharkiv oblast governor Arsen Avakov.
