Representatives of the Council stressed that the decisions made by the current President of Ukraine, are perceived positively by them and communities in the countries they represent.
They also presented President Yanukovych with Council’s honorary award for his contribution into development of cooperation with Russia.
The President also stressed that "we will not allow rewriting the history to please the politicians, no matter how complicated it is.” He stressed that nobody will encourage veterans of the Great Patriotic War to reconciliation, for it is their right to make such a choice.
Representatives of the International Council of Russian Compatriots thanked the President for the meeting and wished him success, endurance and patience in the future.
