President: Main task I put before central authorities is to increase wages

"I will do everything to ensure that people in Lviv region, Ternopil region or in any other western region lived no worse than the whole Ukraine," he said in the interview to journalists in Lviv.

Viktor Yanukovych noted that the average salary in the Lviv region, for eample, is about 1200 UAH, while the average salary in Ukraine is about 2400 UAH.

"There must be no such differences," said President Yanukovych, adding that "the main task that I now put before the central and regional authorities is to significantly increase wages.”
