President: We will hold Euro 2012 at proper level

According to the President, out of the 9 billion UAH to be spent on preparation for Euro 2012 in Ukraine last year, only 3 billion were actually used.

Viktor Yanukovych has called this state of affairs unsatisfactory. "Today the project has fallen into terrible decay”, said Viktor Yanukovych.

The President noted that in order to utilize budget funds it is necessary "to urgently find construction companies to deal with infrastructure: roads, hotels, airport terminals, etc. ...“.

However, Viktor Yanukovych expressed confidence that all tasks would be completed on time and that performance of works would be better than in previous years. "Already this year we will boost this question, which is one of our priorities, so that in 2012 we were not ashamed of our country, that we, as hosts, could provide a worthy welcome to guests, fans and representatives from around the world", said President Yanukovych.
