President meets PACE President

"We appreciate the opportunity to have our vote in the Parliamentary Assembly. Ukraine undertook commitments to the organization and will try to fulfill them before the beginning of our presidency over the organization in May 2011”, he said.

According to him, Europe’s support of Ukraine’s aspirations to sign the Association Agreement with the EU, establish free trade area and introduce visa free travel is extremely important for us in the process of European integration.

"Ukraine is the integral part of united Europe. We would like to take a rightful place among the democratic European countries. I see great prospects in deepening cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe," said Viktor Yanukovych. He also emphasized that appreciates the opportunity to participate in the session.

From his part President Çavuşoğlu congratulated President Yanukovych on his election. He said that as the PACE President he strongly supports implementation of system reforms, the Ukrainian leader has started in the country.

"I hope that Ukraine will fulfill its commitments to the Council of Europe. We are ready to assist Ukraine in reaching European standards," he said.
