In Budapest President Victor Yushchenko took part in the ceremony of opening of the monument to victims of the Holodomor of 1932-33 in Ukraine.
Speaking at the event President Yushchenko thanked all those who contributed to opening of the monument, particularly to Hungary state leadership Budapest Mayor Gábor Demszky and Ukrainian community of Hungary.
Participants of the ceremony light candles and placed them near the monument also honoring victims of the Holodomor by observing a moment of silence.
