President Victor Yushchenko conducted a meeting with Pensions Fund Board Chairman Oleksiy Zarudny, Deputy Minister of Finance Volodymyr Matviychuk, and Deputy Minister for Labor Olena Haryacha dedicated to pensions policy and financial planning in Pensions Fund.
Opening the meeting President Yushchenko expressed concerns about the fact that Pensions Fund budget had been elaborated and approved based on unrealistic economic indices. He also pointed to specialists’ calculations that show growing deficit in the budget of Pensions Fund. “Without active steps made, such tendency may produce unfavorable results and lead to debts in pensions”, - said Victor Yushchenko.
He stressed that the problem should be solved by Pensions Fund in cooperation with the Government through alterations to the State Budget with recalculation of economic indices.
