In Prague President Victor Yushchenko and Mrs. Kateryna Yushchenko took part in the ceremony of opening of the monument to Taras Shevchenko.
“This is a sign of Czechs’ true respect towards Ukrainians. This is a symbolic center of our thousand years’ relations, our cultural connection and future living. I would like to thank state authorities of the Czech Republic and to public and cultural figures for their understanding of great essence of our relations”, - said Victor Yushchenko in his address at the ceremony.
