President Victor Yushchenko took part in wreaths laying ceremony near the Memorial to Ukrainians who were killed in the war in Afghanistan.
Other participants of the event were Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn, Vice Prime Minister Ivan Vasyunyk, Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov, NSDC Secretary Raisa Bohatyryova, other state officials.
