President Victor Yushchenko had a phone conversation with the European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. Sides discussed development of the situation with supplies of Russian gas to Ukraineand its transit through Ukraine to Europe.
European Commission President expressed happiness to Victor Yushchenko about signature of the agreements between Ukraine and Russia and stressed hope that because they are long term, they would strengthen security and transparency of European energy market.
From his part President Yushchenko informed that Russia has already begun supplies of gas to Ukrainian territory and until the end of this day it will reach European customers.
