MinTrans: Orphans, children-invalids, children of dead miners, military officers and law enforcement officers not to pay for traveling by railway

During the first quarter of 2009 Ukrzaliznytsya holds an action of free conveyance of children up to 16 years old among the categories of children-orphans, children-invalids, children of dead miners, military officers and law enforcement officers.

Such an action of free transportation of children of up to 16 years old was launched by Ukrzaliznytsya back in 2000. All expenses for conveyance of such kinds of children have been assumed by railway employees themselves.

It should be reminded that under the current legislation children of ages of up to 6 travel free, from 6 to 14 pay fares with a 25% discount, older than 14 pay full ticket price, while the students pay 50% from full price of the travel document in carriages with numbered reserved seats and couchette cars.
