President Victor Yushchenko met today with Metropolitan Archbishop of Lviv Mieczyslaw Mokrzycki.
At the meeting President Yushchenko congratulated Archbishop Mokrzycki on becoming archbishop of the Archdiocese of Lviv and wished him success in his work.
He also thanked the Archbishop and all faithful of the Roman Catholic Church for their participation in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine. Particular gratitude President
Yushchenko expressed to Pope Benedict XVI for his prayer for the Holodomor victims.
From his part Archbishop Mokrzycki conveyed to President Yushchenko Pope Benedict’s invitation to visit Vatican.
