President opens exhibition dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

President Victor Yushchenko took part in opening of an exhibition dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that took place in Ukrainian Exhibition House.

Speaking at the event President stressed that he is optimistic about what has been done in last two years in protection of persons with disabilities in Ukraine and in improvement of their living conditions. “We are discussing that, we are drawing attention of the society and of our church to that, we alter attitude of business towards that… “, - he said.

Victor Yushchenko also thanked to all those, who take care of the disabled in Ukraine and who stretch a helping hand to them. Particularly President mentioned Ukrainian businessmen’s activity in that direction.

“My strategic goal is to show the society that people with disabilities are Ukrainians too; that they want to work, learn, visit museums, etc”, - said President Yushchenko.

Within the framework of the event President also presented state decorations to persons with disabilities and to those who contributed to improvement of these people’s life.
Then he toured the exhibition dedicated to rehabilitation for disabled persons in Ukraine.
