President Victor Yushchenko met Minister for Economy Bohdan Danylyshyn and Minister for FinancesVictor Pynzenyk.
At the meeting sides have discussed topical issues connected with financial crisis.
Speaking at the event, as top priority President put stabilization of economic situation in Ukraine, forming coordinated national economic and budgetary policy for 2009, implementation of 2008 budget especially in its social part, etc.
Speaking about stock and banks system crisis President pointed to importance of maintaining a single currency exchange rate in currency transactions between banks, National Bank’s and in common currency trade.
Separately President Yushchenko pointed Economy Minister’s attention to increase support to exporters. “We should revise these tendencies for the next year. We must give a clear signal to business and to markets that we quickly correct faults in organization of trade policy and bring new balance”, - he said.
Victor Yushchenko also pointed Ministers’ attention to problems with wages payment debts. According to him these debts increased 22 percent in September and now amounts to 850 million hryvnyas with most of them in state sector.
