MIA: SAI fixes violation of road rules by pedestrians

In Kyiv alone, from November 17 officers of the State Automobile Inspection have drawn up 118 respective protocols. Under the current legislation, violation of Road rules conducted by pedestrians a fine at the sum of 51-85 UAH is imposed. In case such a violation has led to an accident, sanctions up till 255 UAH.

Before the new legislation have come into force, threefold less of administrative protocols had been drawn up in Kyiv for 24 hours while a fine of 1.7-8.5 UAH had been imposed. With the scanty punitive measures administrative practice towards pedestrians has been ineffective. At the same time up to 20% of road accidents through pedestrians fault had been fixed within the country.
