Competent bodies of Cyprus unveil to Ukraine's financial secret service "cards" of offshore players

The State Committee for Financial Monitoring of Ukraine has stirred up collaboration with financial secret service of Cyprus (MOKAS - Unit for Combating Money Laundering) in connection with a great amount of financial operations conducted in Ukraine through Cyprian enterprises.

So, pursuant to the signed in 2004 between the abovementioned parties of the Memorandum on cooperation the exchange with confidential information concerning real owners and the state of accounts of Cyprian companies is envisaged.

The State Committee for Financial Monitoring have already gathered information concerning the number of Cyprian companies operating in Ukraine. Data in terms of another group of companies is expected.

Within the short term with assistance of MOKAS an analysis of financial operations conducted between the subjects of Ukraine and Cyprus is planned with further directing of respective materials to the law enforcement bodies.

In the analogous direction the Russian financial secret service is acting together with Federal Service of Financial Markets, as on RTS Stock Exchange around 90% of contracts are being concluded through offshore areas.
