With his direction President Victor Yushchenko established a Commission on studying condition of forestry in Vinnytsya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattya, Lviv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions.
Deputy Prosecutor General Tetyana Kornyakova was appointed Head of the commission.
Until October 1, 2008 the commission will be investigating organization and use of forestry in the abovementioned regions and analyze effectiveness of measures aimed at forests preservation.
Having received the results, the commission would provide its suggestions on improvement of the situation, counteraction to violation of the legislation in that field and initiate proceedings against those guilty of illegal actions.
