Ukraine's foreign, military intelligence to cooperate

Leadership of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service and Main Department of the Defense Ministry Intelligence of Ukraine held a joint working meeting at military intelligence's central office in Kyiv.

The meeting participants discussed a range of practical issues related to bilateral cooperation of the intelligence agencies and fulfillment of common coordinated measures intended to support the national interests and Ukraine's state policy in economic, political, military, military-technical, environmental and information areas, the Defense Ministry press-service reported.

A common position was elaborated regarding distribution of powers, information exchange, settlement of staff issues and establishment of interaction between the intelligence agencies.

An accord was reached on further joint work to develop an efficient model of Ukraine's security sector which should ensure fulfillment of tasks to detect, prevent, localize and neutralize the new and potential threats to Ukraine's national security.
