At his joint press availability with President of Hungary László Sólyom, President Victor Yushchenko stressed that both sides appreciate positive dynamics of bilateral relations development. According to Victor Yushchenko trade revenue between Ukraine and Hungary has increased by 40% last year.
President also said that both sides are pleased with their boarder cooperation, particularly with implementation of the agreement on local boarder movement. In that field sides also plan to develop boarder infrastructure and they also discussed that in detail during the talks.
In humanitarian cooperation field Ukraine and Hungary agreed to arrange consultative meeting between their education ministries next week to discuss enhancing access to higher education in Ukraine by Hungarian community’s representatives. Beside that President Yushchenko thanked Hungarian side for building a monument to Holodomor victims in Hungary and invited President Sólyom to take part in commemoration of 75th anniversary of Holodomor in November, this year.
As to ecological cooperation sides decided to hold a bilateral ecological forum later this year (approximately in October), to hold a more in-depth discussion of Carpathian Mountains preservation and enhance control over water quality.
