President Victor Yushchenko met with the Chairman of Russia’s Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller. At the meeting President Yushchenko and Chairman Miller discussed cooperation between Gazprom and Naftogaz of Ukraine.
Speaking of the first half of the year of cooperation between Gazprom and Naftogaz Mr. Miller stressed that the work has been constructive and aimed at finding consensus. “With pleasure we note that we have been working good and constructively during the first half of 2008 and hope for further cooperation in such spirit”, - he said.
Besides Alexey Miller stressed that gas supplies and transit through Ukrainian territory comply with the schedule, approved earlier.
From his part Victor Yushchenko said that it was very important that the sides reached agreement not to politicize their relations and were able to elaborate clear principles of pricing and transit policy.
“It is our perspective and of course we would like it to be longer than a year or two and fixed as mutually beneficial relations”, - said President Yushchenko
