Dutch companies to assist in narrow gauge building to Ukrainian-Polish border

The Lviv Regional State Administration and the Lviv City Council signed a memorandum with Movares and NEA companies (Netherlands) on joint concept development on building a European-type narrow gauge from Lviv to the Ukrainian-Polish border.

The concept will ensure necessary arguments for the following round of talks with international financial institutions, such as EBRD and EIB, as well as with the European Commission, which have already expressed interest and readiness in providing financial assistance for implementation of the gauge project.

Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade Frank Heemskerk noted that the Dutch government will pay significant attention to the fulfillment of the memorandum's conditions and will assign EUR 133 thousand for additional financing of the concept development.

The narrow gauge will solve major part of problems with fans and tourists transportation during Euro-2012.
