Today in Kyiv, Chairman of the State Border Guard Service Mykola Lytvyn and First Deputy Director the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and Chief of the Russian Border Guard Service Vladimir Pronichev signed a plan on fighting poaching in the Azov Sea for 2008, Lytvyn told a press conference following a meeting of the Council of Frontier Troops Commanders of the CIS countries.
"We signed a plan of joint actions on countering poach fishing in the Azov Sea and this plan provides for a number of operative-preventive and preparatory measures, as well as an active phase of carrying out a special operation", Head of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service said.
The border guard agencies of the two countries also signed a protocol on the work schedule of check points across the border of Ukraine and Russia.
