Oleksandr Sahan, head of the State Committee of Ukraine for nationalities and religions, who was staying on a working visit in Croatia, met with that country's ethnic minority council head and the head of the Government Committee for ethnic minorities, Ukraine's embassy reported from Croatia.
During the meetings, Sahan thanked the Croatian party for its efforts aimed at settlement of questions involved in human rights and freedoms of the Ukrainian minority living in Croatia.
The parties also exchanged views of bilateral cooperation in the field of interethnic and migration policy. Ukraine, particularly, showed interest in the study of Croatian experience on the questions of pursuing government policy in the field of observance of rights and freedoms of the ethnic minorities living in the territory of Croatia, and agreement was also reached on prospects for signing an appropriate bilateral document to make it possible to establish system cooperation in the area.
Sahan invited his Croatian counterparts on a visit to Ukraine for introducing their model of state program for assistance to ethnic minorities.
