President
Victor Yushchenko held a meeting with Prosecutor General Oleksandr Medvedko and
acting Head of the Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaichenko. At the meeting
officials discussed the situation around State Property Fund. Separately
subject of law observation during preparation to Kyiv mayor elections was
raised.
In his
report to President Yushchenko, Prosecutor General informed him that in
compliance with the decision of National Security Council of May 16 the Office
of the PG together with Security Service has conducted an investigation of law
observation regarding State Property Fund functioning including legality of State
Treasure’s discontinuance of financing the Fund’s activities. According to the
results of the inquiry the Office of the PG has instituted criminal proceeding
as State Treasury’s actions were violation of legislation.
