At his
quarterly press conference President Yushchenko expressed assurance that the only
right way to work out a new edition of the Constitution would be through National
Constitutional Council rather than through creating temporary commission in the
Verkhovna Rada for that.
He however
noted that preparing modifications to the Constitution without participation of
the Parliament would also be wrong. “We must respect democratic parliamentary institute.
On the other hand we may not ignore population and voters as it had been back
in 2004. That is why corresponding referendum and dialogue with people should be held”, - he said.
