Hungary to open honorary consulates in Simferopol and Odesa

Bilateral negotiations on the consular-legal issues took place in Budapest.

A number of issues were discussed presenting mutual interests, in particular, the situation on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, the state of fulfillment of the Ukraine-EU agreement on simplification of drawing up visas and the bipartite intergovernmental agreement on the rules of local border movement, and on the consulates to ensure rights and interests of citizens.

The parties agreed with a necessity to develop check points at the Ukrainian-Hungarian State Border and with improvement of their passing capacity. While considering an issue about liberalization of the visa regime between the two countries, the delegations confirmed a necessity of firm observation of the provisions of the Ukraine-EU agreement on simplification of the visas' drawing up.

The parties also came to an agreement with regard to speeding up the procedures that are necessary for opening the honorary consulate of Ukraine in Seged, as well as honorary consulates in Simferopol and Odesa.
