President Viktor Yushchenko laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the capital's Eternal Glory Park.
Taking part in the ceremony were VR Chairman Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Vice Prime Minister Ivan Vasyunyk, Defense Minister Yuriy Yekhanurov, Internal Minister Yuriy Lutsenko and other officials and veterans. They held a minute of silence in memory of the people killed in action.
