President Victor Yushchenko on Friday met with Azerbaijan’s Ilham Aliyev and Georgia’s Mikhail Saakashvili in Krakow. The three leaders spoke about opening a GUAM secretariat in Kyiv and holding a GUAM summit in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, in June. They also discussed plans to establish a peacekeeping battalion and ways to formulate common approaches to settlement of ethnic conflicts.
Yushchenko said GUAM, which promotes democracy and economic development, could participate in preparations for the Euro 2012 championship finals.
