President meets top management of JSC TNK-BP


The President noted that now the new stage of development of Ukraine has started and expressed hope that it will succeed, despite the difficulties that may arise.

"In the short time we managed to restore the chain of power, create an effective system of governance," said Viktor Yanukovych. He stressed that now the process of uniting political forces around development of the country and building a strong Ukraine is going on.

At the same time, President Yanukovych stressed that tangible effects of economic crisis and inefficient work of the previous government can still be felt in Ukraine. The President expressed confidence that the authorities will work on solving business problems caused by their predecessors.

Executive Director of JSC TNK-BP Herman Khan informed the President that during 10 years of its work in Ukraine, the company invested about $1 billion in the development.

“TNK is a Russian company, it successfully conducts its business in Ukraine, and we plan its future expansion," said Herman Khan.

"During our work we have established an extensive network of gas stations. We were able to make Lysychanskyi refinery of one of the industry leaders through the reconstruction of the plant. TNK-BP has created 5000 jobs and is one of the largest taxpayers in Ukraine," said Herman Khan.

According to him, by 2015 TNK-BP plans to invest $800 million into development of the business, $140 million of which – already this year.
