Viktor Yanukovych meets with Joschka Fischer

Viktor Yanukovych and Joschka Fischer discussed Ukrainian President’s recent meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, held in Washington during the Nuclear Security Summit.

"We have excellent ties that we have never lost because Germany is a reliable partner for Ukraine, the country that has invested the most into the economy of our country", he said.

Joschka Fischer stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between our countries. He said it was an honor for him to meet the Ukrainian President and thanked for Ukraine's accession to the nonproliferation of nuclear materials program.

"I would like to convey my sincere appreciation of the wise decision you made at Washington Nuclear Security Summit. It was a balanced decision sending a signal to the whole world", he said.
