Presidents of Ukraine, Kazakhstan conduct Ukrainian-Kazakh talks

At the beginning of the negotiations President Yanukovych noted that had accepted President Nazarbayev’s invitation to visit Kazakhstan with pleasure. Viktor Yanukovych praised the innovative investment methods of development of the country introduced by his Kazakh colleague, as well as the projects within the framework of development of the Kazakh capital Astana.

"This experience is worth being studied by us. What you do is worthy of respect ", he said.

The Ukrainian President expressed his confidence that his visit to Kazakhstan will open a new page in relations between the two countries. Viktor Yanukovych also thanked the Kazakh side for the suggested Action Plan Ukraine - Kazakhstan 2010 - 2011. He expressed hope that before the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Ukraine scheduled on the second half of the year specific measures will be implemented pursuant to this document.

"I would like this road map to be in the basis of our common real action. We have specific projects in all directions: agricultural machinery, fuel and energy complex, etc. It is important that we intensify our trade and economic cooperation ", said Viktor Yanukovych, expressing also confidence that Ukraine and Kazakhstan can greatly increase the turnover between them.

From his part Nursultan Nazarbayev said that Kazakhstan attaches great attention to strengthening relations with Ukraine. He expressed hope that current visit of Viktor Yanukovich will give a new impetus to development of cooperation, noting at the same time that relations between Ukraine and Kazakhstan continued to develop despite all obstacles.

"Over the years a solid legal-treaty base has been established between our states which is sufficient for normal work of businessmen", said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
