President lays flowers to Taras Shevchenko monument in Washington


After the ceremony President Yanukovych talked briefly to representatives of Ukrainian community in the U.S.

When asked about the future of Ukraine, the President expressed confidence that our state will be developing successfully. "We will overcome the recession, consolidate the society and strengthen the state. We will conduct the policy of defending its national interests", he said.

The representatives of Ukrainian community in the U.S. wished President Yanukovych success in implementing the constructive ideas of state building he has. They also called on Viktor Yanukovych to invite more young professionals to the process, who want to contribute to the development of Ukraine and assist in implementing effective reforms.

The President also handed over gifts to the Ukrainian community.
