On the first day of the visit, July 27, Patriarch Cyril I is scheduled to meet Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko and members of Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.
After the meeting President Victor Yushchenko and Patriarch Cyril I will lay wreaths to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Kyiv and place candles near the Memorial to victims of the Holodomor 1932 -1933 in Ukraine.
