State Customs Service: Ukrainian-Hungarian meeting of customs officials held

The head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Anatolii Makarenko held an official meeting with head of Customs and Finance Guard of the Republic of Hungary János Nagy in Záhony on May 21. The Ukrainian party was also represented by director of Department of Customs Control of the State Customs Service Anatolli Serbaylo, director of Department of International Relations Oleh Ovchinnikov and head of Chop Customs Yosyp Shtrobla.

In the course of meeting heads of customs offices of Ukraine and Hungary discussed urgent issues of cooperation between customs bodies of the two states. Among the top-priority ones are exchange with statistical data concerning movement of goods and transport vehicles via customs borders of the countries. In the future it will give chance to analyze movement of goods and coordinate activity of the customs structures. The head of Customs Administration of Hungary assured his Ukrainian colleagues that the Hungarian party would render to the customs bodies of Ukraine maximal aid in the area of data communication.

Moreover, János Nagy and Anatolii Makarenko defined main directions of cooperation between Ukraine and Hungary in the framework of interaction with the World Customs Organization and the European Union.

Within the scope of preparation to holding Euro-2012 in Ukraine the customs officials of the two states analyzed the state of infrastructure of Chop and Záhony border checkpoints and determined principal moments which are to be the core areas of attention in the process of gearing-up to this significant event.
