At Boryspil Airport President Victor Yushchenko met with families and relatives of MV Faina crewmembers.
President Yushchenko told them about the talks aimed at freeing the sailors. He explained that the pirates were making such high demands because of the cargo. “This will be the biggest ransom in history” said Victor Yushchenko adding also that the most important thing was that the operation was conducted successfully and without casualties.
Beside that President Yushchenko said that the in this incident Ukraine came across international crime and informed that “Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has officially addressed diplomatic circles, which should find out why did representatives of their states take part in this dirty business”.
