Ukraine plans to supply electricity to Belarus - President Yushchenko

At his joint press conference with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, President Victor Yushchenko informed that the two Presidents agreed that Ukraine would resume supplies of electricity to Belarus.

The appropriate agreements would be prepared in the nearest future by the Governments of the two states.

According to President Yushchenko Ukraine is highly interested in energy cooperation with Belarus. He informed that two sides discussed common capabilities of transit of Ukrainian electricity to Baltic countries through Belarusian territory. For that, President Yushchenko said, Foreign Ministers of the states interested in the project are to meet in Lithuania in the nearest time to analyze all the possibilities.
