Defence Ministry: Ukrainian music in Germany represented by Orchestra of Center of Military Music from Odesa

Germany hosts an International Military Festival of Brass Bands of countries-members and partners of the North-Atlantic Alliance.

An honour to represent our state on this musical forum was obtained by 52 military musicians of the Orchestra of the Center of Military Music from Odesa led by lieutenant colonel Liubomyr Tsukenyk.

To Germany the musicians from Odesa brought rich with national colouring concert program, represented by works of famous Ukrainian composers.

This event gives an opportunity to improve professional technique, enrich musical repertoire and hold a competition between military orchestras of participants and partners of the NATO, head of Military Musical Department of General Headquarters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Volodymyr Derkach explained. By performing the best musical acquisitions our musicians would facilitate to raising of prestige of Ukraine and its Armed Forces in the states of Europe, he added.

The noted military musical team from Odesa is comprised of a military orchestra, big band, male chorus, consort and ballet group.

During the tour Ukrainian musicians will perform in such German cities as Munich, Frankfurt, Schwerin, Hamburgh, Offenburg, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Rostock, Koblenz, Bielefeld.

The festival will be underway until March 3.
