Defence Ministry: Concept of civil-military cooperation in the course of participating Armed Forces of Ukraine in international peace-keeping operations approved

The Minister of Defence Yurii Yekhanurov with its order has approved a Concept of civil-military cooperation in the course of participating Armed Forces of Ukraine in international peace-keeping operations.

Among the principal tasks of this program document are defining a goal, content, main principles and functions of civil-military cooperation during participating of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in international peace-keeping operations for 2009-2014.

Adoption of the Concept, stipulated by implementation of measures of Target Ukraine-NATO Plan, will give an opportunity to objectively evaluate political and social-economic situation, the state of interconfessional and interethnic relations, to forecast the development and take into account their impact on implementation of the set tasks for the Ukrainian officers, taking part in international peace-keeping operations.

Civil-military cooperation in the process of participating Armed Forces of Ukraine in international peace-keeping operations will raise guarantees of stability and safety for the personnel of peace-keeping contingents.
