Together with his wife Kateryna Yushchenko President Victor Yushchenko came to National Philharmonic Society, where famous Ukrainian publicist, literary critic, participant of national-democratic movement Yevhen Sverstiuk was celebrating his 80th birthday.
In his greeting word at the event President Yushchenko praised Yevhen Sverstiuk’s role in establishment of the independent Ukraine. “Thanks to that generation of legendary people we have our life and our history”, - he said.
“I would like to congratulate this free man – Yevhen Sverstiuk”, - said Victor Yushchenko.
