Speaking to journalists in Volyn region President Victor Yushchenko said that there are no economic, financial or other causes for rapid devaluation of the Hryvnya.
According to him despite economic and financial crisis did really affect national currency, increase in demand for foreign currency was caused rather by psychological factors. “I am deeply assured: today’s exchange rates demand fighting with speculative operations that has formed on currency market in last few days”, - he said, urging the National Bank, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy to apply all necessary measures to minimize psychological causes for the situation.
