President Victor Yushchenko held a meeting of Coordinative Board on preparation to EURO-2012 in Ukraine.
In his address President Yushchenko said that this year dynamics of the preparation to hosting EURO-2012 was rather positive. Among major successes he named opening of a new stadium in Dnipropetrovsk, beginning of construction at ‘Olimpiysky’ stadium in Kyiv, etc.
President also drew attention of those present to urgent problems in preparation to EURO-2012.
According to him, first of all, it is important to provide proper monitoring of projects’ financing and utilization of funds. Also he reminded that the Government has not yet elaborated relevant part of 2009
State Budget. Beside that, according to President, attraction of non-budgetary funds to the projects should be better regulated to prevent possible growth of municipal debts.
President Yushchenko stressed that he expects all the responsible authorities to complete preparation of all the legislation and other documents needed for preparation to EURO-2012. Among the most important he mentioned draft law on national program of preparation to the championship, yearly list of goods that are used in construction of sports infrastructure to be imported without duty, etc.
